Location
Athuruwella, Bentota, on
the west coast, 65 kilometres south of Colombo and 92 kilometres
from the International Airport. Saman Villas is magnificently
perched on a rocky headland dividing two long seemingly endless,
surf-swept unspoilt beaches of golden sand, backed by dense
green coconut plantations, in the quiet-sleepy fishing village
of Aturuwella in Bentota. The atmosphere is one of tranquility,
disturbed only by the sound of sea gulls and the waves breaking
on the rocks below.
Type of Rooms
There are just 27 luxuriously furnished,
air-conditioned Suites designed in traditional Sri Lankan
style and carefully positioned to give spectacular views of
the shoreline and sea.
They include an open-air bathroom, dressing room, sleeping
deck, lounge area and verandah, mini bar, cable and satellite
TV, radio, CD player, telephone, safe, make-up mirror and
hair dryer.

Facilities
The inviting "infinity edged" swimming
pool with sea blue water appears to merge with the vast Indian
Ocean beyond. The cascading gardens on the rock face offer
a variety of locations to appreciate the magnificent views,
caressed by cooling sea breeze, in quiet relaxation.A choice
of restaurants overlooking the pool and the sea beyond - terrace
restaurant opening onto the garden, for breakfast, lunch and
weekly barbeque dinner and the main restaurant well known
for its excellent cuisine and the daily 5-course set menu
is open for dinner. Two bars with agnificent views - the Lounge
Bar by the pool and the cosy air-conditioned Library Bar with
a snooker table and a wide selection of books - the latter
an acknowledgement "Saman Villas" specialty.
A fitness centre to work out the stress or sooth your mind
and body at the Sahana Spa with aromatherapy, herbal massage,
yoga (twice weekly), steam bath, sauna or a floral aromatic
bath in the privacy of your open-air bathroom. Other facilities
include a jewellery shop, badminton, table tennis and a well
equipped conference hall. Evening entertainment programmes
- ballets, western music, oriental music, calypso music, magic
shows, etc are arranged minimum 5 times a week.
